Thoughts on this weekend (‘Mater Days 2020)

April13

We are hoping for a ‘soft’ ‘Mater Days. We would like to remind everyone that we have plenty of veggies. It it not necessary to be here Friday morning. The weather forecast is looking like it will still be pretty cool Friday morning, and honestly that makes it more difficult, for us and you. Mid-week, next week, would be a less busy time and more room for social distancing. If you do come this weekend: we ask that you keep a 6ft space between you and others, please DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN OR DOGS, and be patient with staff and other customers. We will have very low staff and will not have our normal set of volunteers to offer advice or lend a hand. There will be a max limit of customers able to shop in the veggies area (TBD). We have painted hearts 6ft apart for a checkout line. You are welcome to place an order over the phone for a quicker checkout or curbside delivery. If you order over the phone, we ask that you pay over the phone as well. We will likely be too busy to take orders fri sat or sun, so call Peggy on Thurs or before or wait till Monday. This is new to all of us and we’re still trying to figure it out like everyone else.Of course the health and safety of our staff and customers is paramount! Respect and patience will get us through. We’re all in this together

‘Mater Days 2020

April1

Another year, another ‘Mater Days! We are hoping you’re able to make it out and get the veggies and herbs you need for your garden. In our humble opinion, gardening is one of the best ways to spend your time as we all practice ‘social distancing’ and ‘safe at home’. Go outside, enjoy the fresh air, your hands in the dirt and the prospect of food and beauty straight from your garden.

We will begin selling our heirloom tomatoes, peppers and veggies on Friday April 17th. We have plenty of plant material available. If you choose to wait and come after the weekend have no fear, you will still have many choices. We have a wonderful assortment of flowering perennials, succulents and annuals for you to shop from as well.

With plenty of wide open spaces on the farm we know everyone will show the proper respect in social distancing. We are also happy to accommodate curbside pick-up upon request. In these unprecedented times we send you love and wish you the best in your garden and in life.

Thieneman’s Greenhaus is a family owned and operated garden center, located in beautiful Coxs Creek, KY.
Two years ago we took a leap of faith and decided to relocate our garden center after the family farm sold.
We found a picturesque 10 acre farm just south of Mt Washington and we started settling in. After not quite 2 years now, we still feel like we’re moving in. But we thankfully didn’t have to skip a season.
We had a great first year, and it looks like we’ll have a great second year. We are extremely thankful our loyal customers followed us, and a bunch of new people have found us too.
We have been specializing in herbs and perennials for almost 60 years. Our herb collection is probably the largest in the area. For 15 years now we have grown a large variety of heirloom tomatoes, peppers and veggies. And we have a great love for succulents as well, our collection is ever growing. Our goal is to be your favorite local garden center known for unusual and hard to find plants. We love our plants!!
